Prof. Shojiro Kawakami gave an Invited Talk (OM12), at OFC2007 on applications of autocloned photonic crystal elements. In addition Photonic lattice exhibited at OFC.

The "Masters Researcher" system

A researcher may be engaged in R&D at the Kawakami Laboratory for a period of three years to acquire a Doctorate of Engineering at Tohoku University under the auspices of the recently instituted "Masters Researcher System". Alternative funding may be available from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Special Researcher System.
